"I am the King of the world! " - Titanic (1997)
I was just recovering from the high altitude sickness in La Paz, and believe me it is not a feeling that I'd wish even to my enemies, when two other travelers in the guesthouse showed me their pictures of a short trek that they did 2 days ago. They went to Chacaltaya Mountains, apparently the highest ski town in the world before the ice started to melt. The altitude is insane, 17,800 feet to be exact. And the snow covering the mountain is still a sight to behold. So, since my body is already getting used to the high altitude, I told myself a few thousand feet more wouldn't hurt. The wanderlust in me just had to push myself, and the experience was definitely life reaffirming!
